Biography

From 2004 to 2010 Martin Beer studied Energy and Environmental Management at the University of Flensburg. In 2006 he took a course in Strategic Innovation Management at Syddansk University in Sonderburg, Denmark. In 2008 he completed a semester abroad at the University of Mauritius where he took courses in the fields of Political Science and Strategic and International Management. Martin completed his Practice Semester at the consulting company, Ecofys Germany GmbH in Nuernberg in the field of Energy and Climate Protection Policies. He thereby led a CO2 Benchmarking of fossil thermal power plants in Europe and carried the development of a model for the future development of the European Emissions Trading Market.

He completed his Diploma thesis work with the EnBW Erneuerbare Energien GmbH in Stuttgart in the area of business development. He developed a competitive strategy for the positioning of the German biomethane market.

Martin Beer has been working as a Scientific Researcher for the Energy and Resource Economics Department at the University of Flensburg since 2010. His project work focuses on the development of climate protection policies. Currently Martin is working on the project of developing an integrated climate protection concept for the city of Flensburg. He is responsible for the industry, commerce and trade sectors. Martin Beer is working towards his PhD in climate protection strategies for industrial companies.
