Biography
David Schlipf is a research professor at the Wind Energy Technology Institute (WETI) at Flensburg University of Applied Sciences since 2018. He studied technical cybernetics at the University of Stuttgart, where he also completed his doctorate on "Lidar-Assisted Control Concepts for Wind Turbines". Afterwards, he conducted research at the University of Colorado Boulder and the National Renewable Energy Lab (NREL) in the field of control of floating wind turbines and founded the startup sowento, which is active in the field of renewable energies.
David Schlipf is the Operating Agent of the IEA Wind Task 32 since 2016, Treasurer of the European Academy of Wind Energy since 2017 and Editor at Wind Energy Journal in 2020.
His current research includes wind turbine and wind farm control as well as measurement data processing and optimisation of lidar systems.
David Schlipf currently teaches at University of Applied Sciences Flensburg and the University of Stuttgart. His current teaching activities include fundamentals, control engineering and aerodynamics in wind energy as well as higher engineering mathematics.
