Biography
Frank Hinrichsen studied electrical engineering with a specialization in electrical power engineering at the Technical University of Braunschweig. He then worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Electrical Machines, Drives and Trains there. In 2008, Hinrichsen received his doctorate in the field of resonant inverters. Since 2007, he has worked in industry, first as a development engineer for medium-voltage power converters in Berlin, and later as head of hardware development at a Flensburg-based company that produces converters for feeding renewable energies into the grid.
Since March 2014, Hinrichsen has been a professor at Flensburg University of Applied Sciences, focusing on the field of
- Power electronics
- Medium-voltage converters
- Control circuits
- Measurement electronics
- Grid connection of renewable energies and storage
- Drive engineering
