On the way to becoming the region's innovation engine with high charisma: The "TeStUp" project strengthens the university strategy of supporting start-up-promoting structures that has already been pursued for several years. All four departments are actively represented in the project and form an interdisciplinary team from all the necessary fields of competence. The existing structures with the start-up community "VentureWærft“, the Dr. Werner Jackstädt-Zentrum and the start-up network "EXIST“ are expanded in an ideal way. The focus is on technological and technology-based academic start-ups with high growth potential.
- The Opportunity Space creates freedom and offers broad support
- The laboratory landscape increases the quality and quantity of start-up projects
- The adequate communication strategy promotes diversity and a target-group-oriented approach
- KickStart individual funding brings promising start-up ideas forward in a targeted manner
Detailed description
Flensburg University of Applied Sciences plays a key role in the regional start-up ecosystem Flensburg/Southern Denmark. While the number of start-ups at Flensburg University of Applied Sciences is exceptionally high (around 20 start-ups per year), there is further untapped potential for start-ups with technological products that have a mechatronic character, for example. On the way to becoming a "university for start-ups" based on a lived and deeply anchored start-up culture, the overall goal of the TeStUp project is to create and use the necessary framework conditions for start-ups in the field of technological products.
In the future, it should be possible to generate a broad spectrum of start-up ideas, record them, systematically and quickly evaluate them for success and implement them. In particular for the implementation of start-up ideas based on technological products, new laboratories are to be established and existing laboratories are to be empowered with funds and resources. In addition, the necessary networking between the laboratories themselves and the current start-up support Dock1 is to be created in order to be able to implement start-up ideas in an interdisciplinary manner.
An overview of the competencies and offerings of the various labs, which are considered individual disciplines for technological products, can be found here.
In addition to building up the networked and agile laboratory landscape for start-up activities, a more transparent and target group-specific marketing and anchoring of the offer for both start-up activities and teaching is to be designed and implemented.
